Tony McCleary is a self-taught artist who now, with his wife Susan and their two children, call Petoskey, Michigan home. He acquired an appreciation for wildlife from growing up on a livestock farm in Southern Illinois. His love for hunting, fly fishing and wildlife art began at an early age. He started his wildlife art career with a desire to capture on paper & canvas, his experiences in the field and on the stream. This beginning, though years of hard work and determination, has escalated into a very successful career as an artist.
The black and white (graphite) medium is his favorite of all as it allows him to put a lot of detail into his work. His work is noted for it’s detail and realism. Through his artwork, he strives to share his love for the outdoors, fly fishing, gundogs and all wildlife. Along with his originals and limited edition prints, he enjoys doing commission work of wildlife and gundogs.
His artwork has won several awards in many shows and can be seen in galleries and art shows around the country. He has appeared in national shows in states such as Michigan, Illinois, Rohde Island, Massachusetts, New York, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and others.
